Kontomble Community Voice Divination Ritual at PantheaCon 2017

2/16/2017

It is with delight that we are introducing kontomble medicine at this year's PantheaCon!

Who are the kontomble? The little people of course! Kontomble are elemental beings that brought culture to the Dagara of Burkina Faso. They wake us up to remembering purpose and gifts, bringing wisdom from Otherworlds. There will be a short talk on kontomble - who they are in Dagara cosmology, how we experience them in the West, and how we work with them. Those gathered will then have an opportunity to speak with kontomble during a community voice divination ritual, bringing questions for which guidance is desired.

I will be there as a member of the West Coast Village, a community inspired by the West African Dagara tradition rooted in the West Coast of the United States. Malidoma Somé, elder, teacher and representative of his people from Burkina Faso, has shared indigenous African spiritual technologies with non-Africans to bring healing. Members present at this PantheaCon ritual have been merged with the kontomble, and are part of a lineage that carries a relationship with these beings forward in unique ways.

The divination ritual is on Friday, Feb. 17, 2017, from 11pm-12:30am in the San Martin/San Simeon room. For more information, see the PantheaCon schedule.

You can also find me giving in-person cowrie shell divinations Friday-Monday at PantheaCon! Sign up for a slot in the Vendor Room.
